Attention, Fragile
The camp “Happy Children – Happy Youth” located in mount Pateras, near by Eleysina, a worker’s town 15 miles away from Athens, which has been a life’s work for founder Father Yorgos Pirounakis, manages for 75 years to support the children of immigrants and socially exluded groups. Each year, 50% of the children come from belligerent countries or those suffering from economic crisis. Every July in the small society of the camp, several volunteers, offering love and companionship, give without discriminations to children the right to express themselves by being creative through game and art. Unselfishness, the basic virtue of the volunteers is at the same time their motive power while the half of them has lived as child in this camp.

<a href="http://www.keithdannemiller.com/gallery.html?gallery=Monthly%20Feature&folio=" rel="nofollow">http://www.keithdannemiller.com/gallery.html?gallery=Monthly%20Feature&folio=</a>
Escaping Juárez
The numbers surely tell one story about the violence in Ciudad Juárez--- 2,650 dead in 2009, and over 1000 already this year--- but behind the gruesome figures are the lives of people trying desperately to live in this barbarous city, or the ordeal of those trying to get out. I've looked at one family, the Campos Ordinolas who have experienced the brutality of the streets and the injustice of the maquiladoras and decided they have had enough. I go beneath the statistics and follow the Mexican family of five as they pack up what they can, say goodbye to friends and head south to their family home in the state of Veracruz.
I invite you to take a look.
